one of my top ten books of all time is the road by Cormac McCarthy so as soon as I was aware of this graphic novel I had to get my hands on it! thankfully the library had a copy since I'm broke as fuck lol. the art work was fucking amazing!! the way Manu captured the world in his art. I loved the color scheme and there was a few times I had to stop because a panel get to me and I had to stop and stare at the wall for a few minutes. as the artist wrote in is letter to Cormac he just wants to bring his words to life not change his words. just wow!!

This was a great adaptation. The road was my first McCarthy book and profoundly beautiful and depressing. This book was a good refresher and both beautiful and depressing. Since I knew the story I don't can't say whether it would have been sadder had I not read the book. However, I did watch the movie before reading the book and I wanted to die after reading the last sentence.
