In honor of Relentless book 2 in the Prowl Series by @ajmerlinauthor coming later this week. Lets flash back and review this baby

Reckless is book 1 in the Prowl Series.

Its a PNR shifter Reverse Harem

It is soooo good.⠀I love a good shifter romance and this was just that. Add in a not stick thin FMC and I was here for every moment in this book.⠀I love the FMC so much. That she came from a rough past and is making the best at it in the present. That she is strong and ready to kick ass and take names.

I love her men and that she is so worried she isnt good enough for them and they are constantly telling her she is wrong.

Not what I would usually go for but really good. Only wish that she had had the conversation with her alphas, honestly I think their support would have only strengthened their characters and their relationship. And the fade out on the heat was a little disappointing considering all the other scenes.

*Overall: 4/5* A great time, highly enjoyable steam, and romance didn't disappoint!

This was such a fun jump into a shifter story with many kinds of shifters, great personalities, alpha/omega action, and a touch of kink with your steam (yes please.) Our FMC seems to embrace the “no fucks given” attitude while she struggles with perceived classism, entitled men, and protecting the weak. She falls fast but not without some good ol’ power struggles and teasing. The romance is sweet and hot, protective and empowering.

*Characters: 5/5*
*Steam level: 4/5* There’s a little light and playful kink. Embrace it!
*Reading time: ~4 hours*
*Re-readability: Yes*

I received an ARC copy prior to leaving my review

This was a cute beginning to the duet. I really loved all of the characters in this novel. I like the author’s take that different shifters lived within the society and interacted.

I think something different that the author included was having the main female character, Alek, have mates who are different types of shifters than her own. Not only are their shifted animals different but each of them come from a different type of life and have had different paths. However, they are all very supportive of one another and come together to form a sweet relationship.

This is the beginning of a relationship book but there was also some action and mystery. I’m looking forward to the second part of the duet to see them bring their relationship to the next level.

Reckless by AJ Merlin is a paranormal reverse harem that I listened to on audio narrated by Allyson Voller. This is the first book in the Prowl Duet.

I absolutely love AJ's books! I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am really enjoying the relationship that is blooming between Alek, Hades, Roman, and Wilder.

I can't wait for the next book Relentless to be released on audio so I can get the rest of their story.

Allyson did a great job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like paranormal reverse harem romances.

Really awesome book. I love Alek. She is an omega but she doesn't have the stereotypical fear of nasty alphas, which I think is awesome. Her guys are super protective but supportive at the same time and Hades is so cute. He is like the one with the highest social standing and yet his courting gifts did not really reflect that. Personally, I felt they were the best just because I mean coffee is an awesome courting gift. Although Ill admit if you are clueless or dont want to get your hopes up (which Alek was) then coffee as a courting gift could be mistake as a nice welcome to the team gesture. Overall, I look forward to the next book.
