A great classic Christie, a clever Poirot mystery, lots of twists and red herrings.

3.25/5 The reason for me not rating this book as highly as I have the others, is that I guessed who the murderer was about halfway through the book. I was then fairly certain of my guess right up until the end when my suspicion was confirmed. Normally I wouldn’t deduct so many review points for guessing a plot twist, but seeing as to how the primary joy in these novels come from the whodunnit themes and the reveal of the murderer and how they did it, a moment which I never experienced. Other than this, I found the novel to be relatively enjoyable other than that.

Finished while my family was watching a Cold War Chess movie. Despite already having read the book, I found this infinitely more interesting.

Clearly my review comes in a year late. My review specifies the murderer so don’t read further if you want to read this.
This book has to be my favourite Poirot novel. It wasn’t just the twist plot that took me surprise, but the fact that I genuinely loved the character of the doctor made it all the more brilliant.
I ought to definitely come up with some strategy to go through the Poirot novels - one per month? Or just get through them whenever but chronologically?

Really loved the reveal. The narrator did it!
