I had first read this book when I was in high school, but I didn’t digest it or give it the proper dedication to try to understand what Oscar Wilde’s message was. Overall, the book is interesting and entertaining, but there are moments when the author goes on rants that could get a little repetitive and heavy. Additionally, and this might just be my own curiosity, but I wish we got more direct examples of Dorian’s sins.

Genial bog! Jatak for hedonisme, skønhed, lyster og moralsk fordærv. Wilde er jo bare god.

I went into this book completely blind and was at first surprised at the gothic horror tag.

This is indeed horror.

Beautifully written and filled with quotable aphorisms. It’s a study of some of the worst traits found in humanity: vanity, shallowness, and narcissistic cruelty. As relevant now as it was in the 1800’s.
