This is one of those classic stories that can be improved through its adaptations (I have yet to see/read any). That isn't to say that the story is not excellent, especially for its time, but it could use some polishing, some tightening here and there, some heightened suspense.

Except Basil. Basil was perfect.

Only one extra star because of the ending. I couldn’t stand Dorian. I know that’s the point but I just couldn’t get over it.
