Honestly it felt a little repetitive to the first book and I felt bored. It’s not a bad book per say but just didn’t feel new.

Like chicken soup for the soul, these books always come to me when I need them most, but suspect them least. I just picked this one up because I had it on my shelf and needed something quick to bridge my reading into the next month. I wasn't emotionally prepared to feel these feelings, but I'm not mad about it. These stories and the lessons they teach are so bittersweet but so necessary. I'll pick another one up when I need a reminder.
okay yeah i guess, but why did miki call nagare “older brother”at the very end?

Nailed it - very cosy vibes with still some deeper elements and longer character arcs that keep me drawn to the series (the payoff for ghosty's story is gonna be great!!). Man do the emotional beats hit too. The timey-wimey stuff could potentially get confusing but I think Kawaguchi does a great job at making sure it is explained and easy to follow (big kudos for having a character tree at the start!). My order of preference is The Married Couple > The Best Friend > The Lovers > Mother and Son, but they were all good!
