Reverse harem romance with some hockey, some billionaire, and some surprise baby thrown in. Well written and a page turner, but not one that really got to me emotionally. If one could ever use the word adorable to describe a hockey player, Rigby would be that player. Rigby, Julieta and Daria were probably my favorite characters, and the latter were secondary characters. But it was enjoyable. I might read it again if I was in a slump and needed something comfortable to read.

Nova is a 24 year old who has just lost both of her parents in a car accident when there's a knock at her door. A 6-week old half-brother, Hughey, has just come into foster care and she's his only living relative. Nova agrees to adopt her brother but is soon told that her custody is being contested by his "uncles". Her brother's mum, Alana, grew up in the foster system and her foster brother's want custody of Hughey. River Cooper is a famous hockey player and Devan Mayson is named as one of the hottest 30 under 30 most eligible bachelor's. To top it off their best friend is Rigby, another hockey player who also viewed Alana as a sister and is all in. When Nova is granted full-custody in court they offer her $25 million to move with Hughey to live with them on the other side of the country.
Put one woman and 3 hot guys in a house and you have a recipe for sexual tension.
Nova is my age and the way she reacted to suddenly having a baby to care for felt very real. I could imagine feeling completely out of my depth, I could imagine feeling alone and I could imagine breaking down. Her conflicted feelings about her dad in the midst of still grieving were understandable. I admired the way she stepped up for her infant brother and the strength she showed throughout the book. She wasn't badass in the traditional sense of the word but to me she was badass in her sheer ability to take on such responsibility even when going through immense grief.
River, Devan and Rigby are all great men in different ways. River and Devan are damaged by their childhoods - both with their parents and in the foster system. River has a simmering anger inside him and Devan appears cold and shut off. It was great seeing their layers be peeled back as they let Nova in. Rigby had golden retriever energy and was a good balance. I loved how affectionate he is with Nova and the guys. We all love grumpy assholes but there's something about a sunshine MMC that I adore. The spice level was decent and progressed with the relationships, I felt like it was a good balance and didn't detract from the story.
The side characters were also great. Muss and Julietta were just who you'd want to take you under their wing when you move to a new place where you know no one and Rigby's mum was the cutest.
This was really heartwarming. Also, give me a man with a baby and I will melt - this book had 3.

I was shocked to see an announcement for an RH sports romance! That, combined with the sudden infant brother storyline, made me immediately stop the book I was reading and read this one first.
I love how sweet the MMCs are and that the conflict wasn't their inability to love, but was something else entirely. The characters do have emotional blocks stemming from their pasts, but they're in therapy and already working through them when the story starts.
There's definitely a little insta-lust, but I didn't mind it. It was, however, interesting that the child has a heart condition that is never mentioned after the first part of the book (no checkups, monitoring, etc.). It just stopped being an topic on page after she moved. I also wish they had learned more about each other on the page, especially telling each other about both of the brother's parents. But other stuff was happening, so that wasn't the focus. It just felt like they needed to know each other more.
Lastly, I was confused about the movement of time as the book went on. It was unclear how much time was passing between events, aside from the occasional time marker after a time skip of "it had been two weeks," etc.
Anyway, this one was cute overall. I definitely need more RH contemporary sports romances in my life to read.
