This was a great adventure and history book. The main character Grizzly Adams is portrayed as a complex but honorable hunter. Native Americans are portraying in a positive light. There is quiet a bit of violence described in the book as Adams and his team mates are attacked several times by wild animals and Adams uses violent methods to subdue his violent pets.
