As most of Harper Bliss’s books, That Woman Next Door was quite an enjoyable read. It was by no means my favourite but I loved Marie enough to stick through it even when I had a hard time with Olivia.

This was my introduction to Marie, who apparently isn’g well liked in other books, and I genuinely enjoyed her. I didn’t perceive her as arrogant and instead found her quite delightful. Olivia was a little more difficult for me to like, not because of her clearly being very set in her ways, but rather because I found her repetitive thoughts a little tiring.

In terms of the romance development, I didn’t really find it very romantic until the last 15%. I found the initial declaration almost abrupt and honestly wasn’t as into it as I hoped. That changed toward the 85% mark—then the book ended (too soon).

Still very enjoyable even if not overly memorable.

I really liked the characters; great example of opposites attract but neither of the characters have to completely change to make the other happy. A great romance read that left me wanting more!

I don’t like the thought of “you have to be persistent” when it comes to people and relationships...there are a lot worse examples and honestly this book wasn’t *bad* (no matter the persistency of the characters they stayed respectful) it just didn’t feel right to me either.

Loved the characters and the story, but I didn't feel satisfied with the ending.

I think this is the book where I’m deciding Harper Bliss’s work just isn’t for me. I found myself bored and getting distracted regularly while listening to this audiobook. Honestly, the only thing that kept me interested was Abby Crayden’s wonderful performance. The characters both felt a bit too much like caricatures (I did learn later that one character was the villain of another book — maybe I would’ve preferred this one if I’d read that?) and I found myself just wanting them to go to therapy before they made any big decisions about careers or relationships. 😂

This author’s work is definitely for someone! It’s just not me.

It’s what I expected from a Harper Bliss audiobook. The characters felt a bit underdeveloped.

I rarely read romance, but this was pretty good.
