I came across this book on Amazon while searching for something else and at once I knew I had to possess the hard copy of it. I had never read any book about India's Natural History. The book has not disappointed me till now. The wonderful binding and excellent illustrations in the book are one of the foremost reasons for one to possess this book. The cover of this book is very well defined. It is not very heavy considering that it is a hard cover edition. The print in the book is very readable and the paper quality and binding are excellent along with colorful illustrations. As for the contents, the author takes you on a really fun ride across millions of years from the beginning of creation till date. This is the most enjoyable non fiction I have read this year till date. It is a very engaging read. This book is written in a simple and lucid manner which can be understood by an amateur.I only wish our academic textbooks had been more like this book.

Excellent book. The author has a wonderful way of introducing a subject - through images and places that you and I would be familiar with. Together with the many wonderful photographs in the book, this makes the subject seem immediate and relevant.

Wow !!! What I just read. An underrated book from an Indian author. I never heard of this author and book until my friend suggests this one. Thanks to him. This book specifies entire history and origin of the mother earth and the beings in it. Simple English with rare and amazing photographs. This book is an ULTIMATE TREASURE for the one who is interested in Dinosaurs, Geography etc etc. A big thanks to Pranay who wrote this book.

This is a good review of the history of the evolution of earth and life on it. It's a mix of geology, paleontology, evolution, and cultural history of India. Even for those who have a background in any of the subjects there is plenty of new information, unless you are a scientist of the area. It was a good, and engaging read.

This fantastic book is by a master story teller. It is with ease that he explains the most complex things across many different fields of science, making it all fit into a breathtaking story spread across 4 billion times. I wish I had someone like him as a teacher in school. And I hope that this book is in every school library and is translated into Indian languages.
Also, get the book and not the e-book.

As I haven't come across a lot of literature that explores natural history of the Indian sub-continent, this was a good deep dive. The book covers a lot of areas in broad strokes and provides great pictorial representation of them. If not anything, its a good starting point for further reading with neatly organized references to go through.
