Me encantó el uso de los colores marrón y azul para intervenir la historia de estos dos, como los destellos de color de uno se mezclan en la historia y se transforman.

Book Review
Title: Room for Love
Author: Ilya
Genre: Graphic Novel
Rating: *****
Review: Room for Love is a graphic novel that really intrigued me as it centres around love and how it can be found in the most unlikely of places. We meet Frank a young homeless man who will go to any lengths to survive even if it means warming someone else’s bed. We immediately feel sorry for Frank who is down and out, with his unkempt appearance and the desperate measure he is going to. We also meet Pamela a romance novelist, who is being threatened by her publisher unless she produces a new novel but being single and having to imagine and pretend has burnt her out. As the story bounces back and forth between them we learn a lot about both people. Frank is sleeping rough in London after hitching from Ireland while Pamela needs to find inspiration. I liked how when we change between Frank and Pamela’s perspective the colour scheme changes from brown to blue.
Most of the first half is just watching Frank and Pamela in their normal lives and both of them struggle in their own ways, until their lives collide on London Bridge. Pamela mistakes Franks’ hiding spot for him jumping off the bridge and when the police move him on she offers to let him sleep at her place instead. Their personalities are very different with Frank being quite childlike despite the things he has experienced and Pamela is quite the cynic. During their first night together Frank tries to on with Pamela but she doesn’t exactly respond in the way he expects.
They relationship begins almost completely by accident and they end up providing something the other is lacking. Pamela provides Frank with the kind of stability he has never had and he provides her with a comfort and a passion that she hasn’t felt in years. As they try and figure out a good way of living together while dealing with their own issues I was absolutely immersed in their lives. From their long conversation, their arguments and their passionate bedroom session I was loving Room for Love.
In the end though everything comes full circle. While it is necessarily happy the relationship ran its course for both Frank (if that’s his real name) and Pamela and there is no love lost between them, although I was sure that Pamela’s door would always be open to him should he ever need it.
Overall, Room for Love was a great experience, while it looks at relationship it doesn’t do it through rose tinted glass the relationship is realistic and gritty. Frank and Pamela are both great characters who has suffered more than their fair share and find comfort in one another. I would recommend this graphic novel to all especially those looking for a new take on romance and romantic stories.

Characters often act in inexplicable ways and there's a "twist" that's only a twist to one of the dual protagonists and not the reader. Could have been interesting, however it the end result is ultimately forgettable.

Not my favourite graphic novel of the year but an interesting examination of two people's lives. I like the art style a lot, the plot was just a little too fast/vague for me. I read this for a book club at my neighborhood comic book store, shout out to Comix Experience for being super cool, and I'm interested to see what everyone says tomorrow.

I just could not get into this story. The storyline felt incredibly passe, with a burned out older woman falling for the class-less jackass of a youth that she invites into her home. The twist--that he's a rent-boy--felt very much like something that was thrown in for shock value and little more. This story ultimately boils down to two humans having sex with each other, each for their own selfish reasons, and the plotlessness was seriously disappointing. To top it off, the art was disappointing and the lettering was awful.
