Glad I persevered to the end, but there were several chunks of this one that I straight-up hated. Not to say the writing was bad, or the story not worth reading, it was just extremely unpleasant.

Very character-driven. Not a big plot which is fine with me. I liked the different POVs of the side characters— gave them more depth. Kind of wanted the book to be longer so I could continue to hear the inner monologue of characters.

There's nothing inherently *bad* per se about this novel. I just don't care about anything that is going on. I picked this up to help combat a reading slump, but I've lost interest already and want to focus on other books. I will admit this novel is out of my comfort zone. It's a pretentious contemporary novel exploring messy relationships, which is fine, just not something I usually enjoy. It feels like it's taking me forever to get through the chapters. How in the world, and why, is this novel 30 pages shy of 400 pages? Is it that serious? I can't imagine following these characters and their relationships for that long.
