This was really fun with lots of references to other detectives. Some of the ideas don't hold up and/or never should've existed, in classic Christie style.
I think this is the first Tommy and Tuppence book I actually like. it's obvious that Christie had reached an advanced level of maturity in this book and had therefore engaged in what seemed as a 'detective writer's excercises ' where the character is given an extra layer by performing other detectives

Tommy and Tuppence are back. It’s been a few years and now they’re married. They are tasked with taking over Blunt’s International Detective Agency. What follows is a series of short stories mostly spanning one chapter. This book does have story line that spans the book which makes if feel cohesive. They tackle poisonings, thefts, & international spies. I enjoyed this book more than the first. It seems the years have matured our detectives. They’re not as annoying and dull as they were in the first book in the series. If they didn’t have the same names, you could convince me that they are different characters all together. Christie highlights other famous detectives with our heroes adopting their method from case to case. Overall, this was a fun light book.
I liked the general premise of this collection--Tommy and Tuppence running a detective agency. I found the references to old detective novels confusing, mostly because I am not familiar with them and some have not remained popular over time. However, I like the duo and their spunk is refreshing.

Tommy and Tuppence are so silly so this was a lot of fun. Some of these short stories made little to no sense but I didn't really mind. There were a couple of satisfying puzzle mysteries but generally they were light-hearted romps with convenient coincidences.

I really enjoy the characters of Tommy and Tuppence but I really don’t like short stories nearly as much as I do a well-developed novel.
