Reading all the Christies #18 - and this one was fun, each short story is based on a rival detective writer of the time. While I hadn't read many of them, the stories still hold up anyway (and I have ideas of what to read next). Plus Tommy and Tuppence are a fun duo anyway

I’m not sure if this is meant to be taken seriously or if its supposed to be a satire, spoof, or mystery comedy…
Partners in Crime by Agatha Christie is an anthology mysteries featuring Christie creations Tommy and Tuppence.
Having been married for six years with minimal strife (or excitement)…Mr and Mrs Thomas Beresford are given the chance to operate a small detective agency under aliases as part of a cover affair.
Contained in this volume are the full accounting of Tommy and Tuppence’s careers as private detectives (as opposed to their prior careers as secret agents which I question if they are qualified for).
Hired for their abilities (or at least the abilities their clients believe them to have…as they are operating under an assumed identity belonging to an incarcerated detective), they stumble through an array of mysteries, murders, and disappearances that are…a thing.
Again, I’m not sure what to make of these characters as it’s hard to take anything they say or do seriously if it’s not meant to be one big joke. Still, they are entertaining so I can’t hold that against them.
