Overall thoughts:
Tokyo Revengers is amazing. 10/10. With a strong plot, wonderful characters, and beautiful art this manga has become one of my favourite mangas if not my favourite. This is a series I will reread hundreds of times and never grow old of.

Plot Review/Thoughts:
Starting strong the story kicks off following an older Takemichi who is a bit stuck in his life. Single, living alone, working at a video store with a boss who is still in high school. We see him watch the news on Hinata’s death and realize he hasn’t had much of a life since middle school. He no longer has friends, and no close relations with anyone. He is a “loner”. When he first goes to the past I enjoy how we see what his life was like the first time around and how quickly the simple act of getting back up changed everything.
The first 150 chapters were awesome. The only time the series took a dip was during the high school years. It felt like there was no destination Wakui was asking for any more. I was getting very nervous about the last 10 chapters because it seemed there would be many unanswered questions and broken promises. It was not until the last chapter that my worries were erased. The ending was amazing and everything I wanted.
I do believe the ending was rushed and could have benefited from another few chapters. I would have been ok with even a year hiatus of the series if the ending was a bit more polished and less rushed.
Characters Review:
The majority of the characters were well-written. Everyone has their own personality, own hobbies, and own designs. This is something early seen beyond the main 2-3 characters. Something often overlooked is how everyone in this story gave second chances to those who did not deserve it and they were given second chances that they did not deserve. Everyone is rough and tumble. Some are absolute asses who hurt people for sport, but you see how contagious Takemichi’s influence is.
Art Style Review:
The art style is amazing 10/10. There is a lot of fashion influence which makes each character unique. Some mangaka’s art styles can make it hard to distinguish characters from other characters. That is not a problem in Tokyo Revengers. You have high fashion, street style and tweens all mixed to make this beautiful masterpiece. Landscape and architecture are nothing special. Most likely they were pre-made purchased backgrounds. However, the motorcycles are beautifully done. The amount of detail and accuracy is something that would take hours to accomplish. Ken Wakui’s background/upbringing influenced his style. Being a former gang member himself has brought everything about Tokyo Revengers to a whole new level.
This is a story of hope, kindness, chances, courage, and above all love. Love for friends.

- ahhh Shin is on a bridge and Sanzu sees him and tries to talk him out but it was the anniversary of Mikey’s accident, he falls thinking he died but turns out he went back in time cause he sees Mikey with the plane

- we back to the “present”, the curse that the time leaper put was the “Dark Impulses” and now Mikey says he is the living proof and bearer of that curse and everything he’s done was to protect everyone he cares about 😭😭😭 (my theory: i feel like Mikry is going to kill himself actually in order to save those around him from himself and the curse/dark impulse…he’s lost so much people and i dont think he can bare losing anyone else)
