Reread review: This book is a fantastic end to the Six of Crows duology. While the first book balanced plot development and character development, this book is more heavily skewed in the favor of character backstory and deepening the relationships between the Crows, and that honestly works out for the best. Kazans, Inez, Jesper, Nina, Matthias, and Wylan are all at their best in this novel and they truly feel like a team.

Ketterdam is the biggest character in this book however, with most of the action taking place in the city itself, this novel feels almost like an exploration into the city of Ketterdam and I wasn't complaining bc this city is by far the most captivating one in the Grishaverse.

My only criticism is that the pace of this book is a bit slow at times and the heists weren't *as* interesting as the ones from the first book, which dropped it by a 1/2 star for me. Overall though, because of my love for the characters & the ending, I rounded it up on GR to 5 stars.

loved this duology (although Sources say —see Leigh’s Twitter in 2018—that she has a third book in mind‼️)

But she also ripped my heart out (IYKYK) and idk if I can forgive her for that 😭
