I have read all of Angela Marsons series of D.I Kim Stone. In this one, the fifth in the series we get to know Kim loads, there is so much background with her relationship with her mother as well as an unusual case. The book is written in the same style as the other Kim Stone books, fast paced that will keep you guessing and interlock with the personal life of Kim with the awesome Alex, “shudders”. Any of you who have read the fourth book in the series will understand my shudder. This series of books is required to read in order, otherwise you will have no idea of what is going on. This is another great book in what I hope will be a long, long series.

Blood Lines brings Kim's nemesis back. Yes, The sociopathic psychologist Alexandra Thorne is back! The recent murders that Kim is working to solve show a clear pattern, although Kim cannot find any way to link the victims together. Knowing that she is dealing with a sick, twisted individual, Kim feels she must get into the mind of the killer. Who better to understand such a mind that Alex Thorne. While Alex seems like the last person that Kim would talk to, she finds she has no choice when it comes to striving to understand the killer's mindset. While this case strains Kim on a professional level, there is something that hits Kim and the rest of the team on a personal level, bringing this book to an incredibly heartbreaking ending.

I loved this book.I freaking LOVED IT.
I can confidently say that I will buy anything Angela Marsons writes without hesitation because she writes the best books ever…
Bloodlines is the fifth book in DI Kim stone series which is my all time favorite in mystery genre. The plot focuses on Kim trying to catch a killer who murdered a woman who everyone loved and respected.Their team can’t find any motive at all.
All the while Kim fights her own battles which appear in the form of Dr.Alexandra Thorne.
I can’t say too much without giving anything away but the mystery is top notch just like the other books in this series. You will never feel bored or swayed from the story line.Yes there are some chapters from the sociopath Alex Thorne, who we saw in Evil Games but I felt that added to the charm of this book.
Coming to the characters, this series contains the best cast of lead and supporting cast I have ever seen.
Kim Stone is as badass always.Aside from the fact that I just wanted to hug her too many times in this book, nothing changed from the prickly and tactless character I adore ❤️ Please Ms.Marsons, don’t ever change Kim.I love her as she is.
In this book,we explore the relationship between Kim and her mother. You get to understand her so much more.
And Byrant, who is like light to Kim’s darkness.Their encounters always leave me with a warm feeling. You rarely get friends like that who know you more than yourself.
And Stacy and Kev were as amazing as ever.I think Kev grew up a lot in this one.which was fun to watch.I always felt he was the baby in the team
And the last chapter where Kim mentions her brother,I swear I didn’t get a little misty-eyed,not at all.
Awaiting book 6 and anticipating many more new and old characters.Bring it on!
If you are a fan of mystery genre or trying out this genre, please check out DI Kim stone series. You will not be disappointed at all.

This 5th series entry finds Kim struggling to find a connection between victims seemingly being stabbed at random. How are they related?
Meanwhile her arch nemesis, sociopath Dr. Alex Thorne, a manipulative psychiatrist she put in prison, is still pulling strings…some involving Kim and her estranged mother.
There’s always lots going on in these books, and this one is no exception. Loved seeing more of the dynamic between Kim/mom/and supervillain Thorne.
Recommended.

Every single time Angela Marsons writes a book I say it’s her best yet – Blood Lines, 5th in the Kim Stone series, is no exception. I LOVED this book. Blood Lines sees the return of my favourite villain – Dr Alex Thorne who despite being in Prison, is still trying to control the lives of the people, and the staff, around her. A fantastic read that I cannot recommend any higher – it is a must read for any crime thriller fan. I just hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of the Good Doctor… 5 stars

I finished this book with tears in my eyes. Not only does Angela Marsons write a kick ass police procedural, she tugs on your heartstrings while doing it.
This is probably one of the only series that I have read where I have given EVERY SINGLE BOOK 5 stars. I can only presume that the next will be good, in fact it's almost a guarantee.
In this novel, Kim becomes involved with an old nemesis, Alex Thorne. Alex is a psychopath, the true definition of the word and she wants Kim to break into a million pieces. The scary thing is, Alex knows which buttons to push to make this happen. At the same time, Kim and her team are investigating a series of murders. I love Kim and her team, thoroughly enjoyed reading about the investigation. Once again, I was completely surprised at the end when the killer is eventually revealed. I really didn't want this book to end. I'll have to wait for the next in the series, hopefully not too long...

This was an extension of book 2, and not my favorite plot line. It also repeated itself a lot --

Another amazing book that I read it in a day. The return of Alex from evil games made this story. Loved every minute and can’t wait for the next one.
