"At first it made little difference. No matter how many nearly good books he read, the boy still felt that the good little book had been written especially for him.

But slowly his heart began to open to other stories."

Well, this book made me a bit emotional. What a sweet story about the power of reading.

Boy finds book, boy falls in love with book, boy loses book... A classic love story. <3

Love, love, love! Maybe it's just hormones, but it made me feel a little teary (in a good way) at the end.

Aw man, this is one of those sentimental favourites. How can a book lover trash "The Good Little Book"? I don't necessarily like all of Maclear's books, but they are always interesting [not to mention gorgeously illustrated]. In the case of "The Good Little Book", she knocked it out of the park.

The Good Little Book by Kyo Maclear is about a boy who discovers a favorite book and through it the joy of reading. It begins with him being put on time out in the family library. There he finds a discarded children's book. Bored and with nothing else to do, he reads it. And the book wows him.

Every bit as good as it claims, plus some.

This is quite possibly the best love story I've ever read; the sparrow is right, and so is the squirrel, and the raccoon? well, the raccoon is wrong.

I love this book. I probably won't carry it around like the boy, but you can bet I'd be just as sad if I lost it.
