I went into A Monsoon Rising with pretty reasonable expectations. Not low by any means, but I was thinking, Surely there’s no way Thea Guanzon could top The Hurricane Wars, right? I mean, that book was a storm of epic proportions, so how could she possibly go bigger? Well… she did it, and then some.

Let me just say— A Monsoon Rising is next level. From page one, I was hooked. The world-building? Gorgeous. The characters? Compelling. The emotional stakes? Off the charts. Thea Guanzon takes everything I loved about The Hurricane Wars and cranks it up to eleven, delivering a high-octane, heart-stopping, and deeply emotional ride that left me utterly breathless.

I absolutely adore her writing. It's lush, immersive, and brimming with that perfect balance of tension, passion, and intensity. There’s just something about the way she crafts both the action and the quieter, intimate moments that make you feel every single thing. I was completely invested in these characters and their journey, and the twists? Well, don’t even get me started—I did NOT see some of them coming.
