Again I find myself starting well into a series but I'm not mad about it. I never felt like I was out of touch coming in on book 15.

Mel and Angie run a bakery and when an old friend of Angie's, Shelby, comes to town to put on a Christmas Music Concert they're hired to provide the pastries. Now, Shelby's manager is found dead and Shelby is a suspect. Mel works to get to the bottom of the murder.

This is a super nice cozy murder mystery. I enjoyed it a lot.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to read and review this book. Susan Boyce did a wonderful job at narrating.

Sugar Plum Poisoned is super quick and festive read for the next installment of the Cupcake Bakery Mystery series by Jenn McKinnley. This time around Mel and company provide cupcakes for the VIP lounge during the holiday show performances of an up and coming singer that Angie knew when she dated Roach. Everything is festive and fun until Mel ends up locked in a room and a the singer’s manager is found dead. Adding onto the stress of the holidays and a dead body, Mel and company race to find out who’s being the grouch and ruining all the holiday fun.

One of the main things I love about a cozy mystery series is following along with our main characters and their lives and I love that Mel and Joe are happily married and thriving. Angie and Tate have their baby girl and Oz is running his own kitchen but still very much apart of the Fairytale Cupcake crew. Marty is still manning the counter and dating their competitor Olivia- how that manages to work is beyond me lol.  Can’t wait to see what the crew gets up to next!
