That was the American way, though. Spend a million dollars rescuing some kid who's fallen down a well, but God forbid you spend a hundred bucks up front to cap the well so the kid never falls down it in the first place.”

I was warned about the triggers in this book. I GET IT NOW 😳 take it seriously. Aside, this story felt so real. I was INVOLVED. These characters were so realized in my mind by the time I reached the end. Some of the language caught me off guard (part of the triggers), didn't love that.
