4.5 stars! This was so good! It was laugh out loud funny at times. Everett is everything in this book! Gretchen is a con artist that does readings for rich widows. She gets her money being a medium. One of her clients hires her to go help her friend at a farm. Weird things are going on and she thinks Gretchen can find the paranormal entity and shoo it away so Charlie can sell the property. She thinks the friend is a 78 year old man, but turns out to be Charlie, the cute 32 year old farmer. Charlie orders her off the property when he finds out who she is and what she does and she literally runs into Everett the ghost stuck on the property due to a curse. The one thing is, this is the first real ghost she has ever seen! He convinces Gretchen to stay and help Charlie. If Charlie sells the property he will die and end up with his fate. The banter between Gretchen and Everett is so good and funny. The enemies to lovers between Gretchen and Charlie is really sweet. I loved every part of this book. Great read!
2.5 Stars
This was a super cute read (though I found I enjoyed Mrs. Nash's Ashes by this author more) with interesting characters and a fun setting. I loved seeing Gretchen's growth in character and her friendship with Everett - he was such an entertaining character. Gretchen and Charlie came off a bit insta-love to me though but I was rooting for them nonetheless. A lot of this felt like it could've been edited down as it seemed a bit lengthy though I did also feel that the ending was a bit rushed.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC!
