happy medium, funily enough, falls in the middle of the road for me. i do think the overall premise of the book is unique compared to other contemporary romances, and the book does have some charm and humor. however, i just didn't find the main character likable, nor did i really care about her or her conflicts at all... the pacing felt slow for the majority of the book and then suddenly sped up towards the end out of nowhere. reading this book was a nice way to pass the time, but i don't think i'll be rereading this book in the future

Very enjoyable rom-com. The plot isn't that unique (two people stuck together who initially don't like each other), but is presented in a fun and entertaining way. I liked the characters and laughed at loud during times in the book.

This was one of the cutest Halloween romances I’ve edee read. Gretchen and Charlie’s relationship is the sweetest,

Thank you to Cari Can Read for the recommendation!

This was cute, but not as much as Mrs. Nash's Ashes, which I absolutely adores. I was not the biggest fan of the female main character who is, by your own accord, scamming people.

This started as a five star read for me. I love a cheeky ghost, I love farm town Maryland (my home), I love con artists and grifters. And I really sped through it—I didn’t want to put it down! Ultimately though, I found the ending to be a little wonky. Plus, Charlie’s moodiness started to get to me pretty quickly. Something is off in their relationship and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Regardless, super fun read. I started it while I was on vacation in Salem which was a perfect setting for it. Fun and charming little book!
