I’ve read a few of her books now and while I think there are some enjoyable titles by Miss Freida this was not it. I got plot whiplash. Basically the yes and of thrillers where you don’t have an unreliable narrator you have a big dumb idiot main girl.

This is my second McFadden book and probably my last. Once you’ve read one you’ve read them all.
Freida McFadden is like that F-buddy you keep going back to. You know you shouldn’t, you know there are better options out there, but there’s just something so comfortingly familiar about it that you can’t help yourself.
Did I get what I wanted out of The Inmate? Absolutely. Was it a little boring and kinda crap compared to her other books? Also yes.
Oh, and let’s not forget the pièce de résistance: there’s a character called Mark Hunt. Go ahead, say it out loud. I dare you.
It’s not her best, but if you’re in the mood for something easy, predictable, and mildly entertaining, it does the job. We’ve all been there.

There were so many plot twists u did not expect at all. When i was reading ‘the boyfriend’ i was right with what i expected for the plot but with this book i was wrong with this one.
I still can’t believe tim is innocent like how do you actually forget that she was almost killed with that exact necklace.

Freida’s books are such good reads for roadtrips or while listening as an audiobook on a walk. This one was twisterier than I even expected. Not my favorite but definitely still entertaining.
no pls don’t kill me mr ghostface I want to be in the sequel! I’ve deducted that the last line in all the books is always the best line in the book. I only read this book bc everyone was freaking out about the epilogue and I felt left out and … yea that one was pretty crazy but he ATE with that parting line. I went into this thinking it was gonna be centered around jail and it was more like camp crystal lake which I liked even more. I’ll say the mfc has no survival skills like girl stand up. Plot twist kinda slayed. This is on the same level as Ward D dare I say maybe a little better?
This wasn’t my favorite by her, but it was still a great read that we’ll take you on a ride
This girl is the most naive and lucky girl in the world. She just attracts the wrong men like a magnet. I want to slap her for her stupidity
