I listened in one day flying cross country and it was a nice way to pass the time. It’s not profound, but I found the story to be a good vehicle for thinking about the transition from childhood to adulthood, and it rang pretty true in terms of all the feelings one person can have at the exact same time. Plus, that dreamy beach house. I can picture it exactly.

This was cute, but not really for me. I started the TV show and thought I’d give this a try. I think I’ll stick with the show.
I’m not the target demographic for this book, but I thought it was a great summer beach read. The writing perfectly encapsulates the thoughts and worries of a 15 year old girl blossoming into a woman, navigating divorce and friendships, and being confused and boy crazy. Belly (Isabel) did and thought so many things I did and thought at that age, it was kind of like a nostalgia trip. It made me cringe, and giggle, and hurt, and long for simpler times.
