If you're gonna read this book, you better prepare yourself. This is probably the most darkest "romance" book I've read so far. The trope and concept is the craziest I've read. Barely legal, "incest", power imbalances, physical assault, and plenty of more. I mean it when is say prepare yourself. The spice scenes are the craziest I've ever read. People talk about Icebreaker being wild but this one is way more. The writing for everything else just felt like fanfic writing. I will say I was engaged in the story for a really long time up until around chapter 30. Tiernan getting used to the family and their ways, her getting past her trauma, and them as a family learning to live as a family again. All of it was good and was touching up until she had to choose between the 2 step bros (step cousins?). Spoiler alert

She chose damn Kaleb. I wish she didn't. Kaleb honestly sucks. She complains about him not talking but then goes back saying "Oh I love how expressive you are with me" back to complaining about how she'll never get to hear him say I love you"

I'm not happy with how it ended. I feel like Tiernan in the end was very toxic, manipulative, and spoiled to get who she wanted. Barely 18 but claims she finds the love of her life (I know it's possible but how it was written in the book made it so sloppy and rushed).

Her saying she's never gonna get pregnant because they're so young and all. Gets pregnant anyway.

I really hate it. The only thing worth rereading about this book are some of the spice scenes and a couple of cute family moments. Other than that, I hate to say that I honestly regret having this book now permanently on my shelf.

Completely unashamed to admit I LOVED this. Vibes and setting were immaculate. Relatable (in more ways than one) main character. And three hot mountain men. THREE. 

Get me to Chapel’s Peak.

I do, however, disagree with Tiernan’s choice (I wouldn’t have picked😔).

DNF at 60%. I’m willing to suspend disbelief but this was too much for me. I also can’t shake the feeling that this was written for men to enjoy.

I think I could have enjoyed this if the FMC wasn’t a **literal child** while she was being groomed. Like, I don’t mind possessive MMCs or taboo relationships, but this was a bridge too far. I knew going in that it was step-uncle and cousins and thought I might like it. But every single character SUCKS. Tiernan might get a pass cause she’s been abused for 18 years only to be abused some more, just by hot guys this time
