I really wanted to love this one. It was okay, but the main reason it gets 3 stars instead of 2 is because I am just obsessed with books formatted like this! But the story itself didn’t live up to my expectations. I expected it to be waaaaaay scarier. It had its horror-like elements, to be sure, but overall it felt more like a story about a mentally ill person, as opposed to hauntings/possessions like I expected. I just wanted a lot more from this

Love the different layout of the book makes it quick to read and also drags you in to the world. As a horror snob it was brilliant that there is finally a YA horror the finish as I horror should finish so satisfying. The main character (Carly/Kaitlyn) are well developed and the book makes sure you are highly invested in these characters as well as the small group of secondary character though not as well define gives more mystery around the story. Wish there was a screen adaptation of this one.

10 out of 10 would read again would recommend.

I've had this book for so many years and I don't know why I waited so long to read it, because I absolutely loved this book so much more than I thought I would. I don't even know how to describe this book, it's a thriller, mystery, supernatural, contemporary, horror story. It's told in a mixed-media format with doctor's notes, interviews, video clips, etc. The characters are flesh out and feel real I would highly recommend the audiobook, listening to it made me feel like I was watching a favorite movie or tv show, I could visualize everything and it only added to the reading experience.

I could see this book becoming a movie or tv show, that's how atmospheric it is. There were so many mysteries throughout the book that it was never boring or slow, and you're not given all the mysteries at once they're spaced out and the obvious answer isn't shown it's hidden, and that takes a good author to be able to do that.

i enjoyed the book, don't get me wrong, but something about it left me disgruntled, even years later.
