I’ve just finished - so I’ll need to think some more. I’m not sure where this leaves me - what does being free mean? The libertarians in this book - cray cray. Yet ... so is everyone else. Can humans actually coexist? Or do we build something that lasts a while, sabotage it until it burns, then build something else? All the misery in the meantime? Why? Is it lack of imagination - too much imagination?
The book is funny - almost too funny for the situation. That feels about right, if we can’t laugh at the all the dudes out there being “free,” maybe we all are doomed. The snark is what makes this book hopeful. At least that is what I’m thinking two minutes after closing the cover.
I liked it - learned a lot about a little town in New Hampshire, and a lot about people and ... selfishness.
