I like how the book is written and how easy it was to read. Then, what was the issue for me and the reason for the two stars? It simple: I don't like how Rae keeps flirting and forcing herself on Claire the whole novel. Even when she has asked her to stop several times.

And, honestly? I was expecting a cute, fluffy GL light novel.

I will continue with the series since I've already bought the rest of the volumes, so I hope it gets better eventually

I feel like this one started to pick up once things start going off the rails for Rae—when her attempts to keep tight control of the narrative she's familiar with start to slip out of her hands. There's also some nice subtle tension with Rae just being fully convinced that the best she can do is to be there to support the woman she loves, rather than hoping to be loved in return—I kind of wish the narrative dwelled on that a little more, because it's an interesting thread.

The main weakness, I think, is that the narrative tends to over-explain itself and tends to stifle emotional moments that way. By the end of the book it's definitely getting better, and I know this was originally published as a serial webnovel, so I expect the following books to improve.

I find it incredibly ironic that the bff character gives the 'villainess' this whole monologue about how lesbians aren't inherently preditory and it's homophobic to be 'scared' of lesbians... meanwhile the protagonist is literally stalking her and she has a very good reason to be scared of her. There are some serious double standards here and also I am wildly uncomfortable. Like I get it, she's a mean girl with blond ringlettes, I would also fall in love, but if she makes it very clear she isn't interested MULTIPLE TIMES maybe you should just LEAVE HER ALONE but idk.

This was just the first volume so there’s still obviously a lot to expand on in terms of character development and plot, but it did a good job introducing itself and setting a foundation for the story. I’m looking forward to reading the following volumes.

É um livro bem ruinzinho, mas é divertido de ler

This one is important in the scope of GL works but I can’t help but feel that it wasn’t a good time overall. Its humor relies on one single joke, Claire doesn’t like Rae back. Which throughout the book, I never really found funny and their chemistry doesn’t quite click enough so it feels like one sided harassment most of the time.

That is what comprises the first half the book before the book randomly dives into a plot line regarding class conflict. You then get some extremely basic world building and some corny dialogue from Rae foreshadowing the 2nd half.

Thankfully though the 2nd half manages to work much better. Even if the subject matter wasn’t dealt with any semblance of class, it did well to define who these characters were a bit more (which the first half failed to do).

So far, I don’t really see the hype. It is one of the only pieces of yuri light novel I can think of that actively addresses sexuality, so it’s commendable for that reason. But it really was just a single scene and I can’t see myself giving it more credit for that. I bought the 2nd volume, so I’ll be giving that a try at the very least before deciding to drop this or not. The 2nd half established some plot threads that may have potential and I hope the 2nd volume dips into it at least a little.
