I simply must have the next one please. I didn't realise it wasn't released until next year 😭. If you see me till than I will be thinking about this book. I love the formatting of timeline jumps, the characters and the magic system. Only 4 stars cause I did find the plot dragging at the start 🫣.

Aufjedenfall ein gutes Buch, allerdings an manchen Stellen etwas „langsam“. Ich meine nicht zu lange Kapitel weil die sind meistens eher kurz aber einfach sehr detailliert erzählt teilweise. Oft fand ich das auch gut aber bei Charakteren die nicht ned gejuckt haben bisschen nervig.
Dazu, muss sagen, hat eindeutig die ganze Marcella Storyline gezählt, weil es mich wirklich nicht interessiert hat was sie macht. Ich fand sie ehrlicherweise auch einen eher vorhersehbaren, einseitigen Charakter und June kann ich irgendwie gar nicht einschätzen. aufjedenfall interessanter und auch „sympathischer“ aber so krass hat’s mich dann auch ned gejuckt.
Die Storyline zu Victor Sydney und Mitch (und dominic) mochte ich dagegen soo gerne. Denen zuzuschauen wie sie immer mehr zur Familie werden war so schön, und trotz seiner negativen Seiten mochte ich victor so gerne. Ich hab halt auch ned erwartet dass er teilweise so starke emotionale Bindungen aufbauen kann wie zu Sydney. Macht ihn meiner Meinung nach zu einem sehr vielseitigen Charakter.
Elis Hintergrund Geschichte fand ich ganz interessantsein Tod war aber bisschen underwehlming wobei vielleicht nichtmal das aber eher sein ganzes Auftreten im Buch bis aufs Ende bisschen umspannend war. Ich dachte auch dass die Rivalität zw victor und ihm nochmal mehr und stärker betont vorkommt aber naja.
Grundsätzlich aber sehr spannend und auch sehr interessant mal trotz dritter Perspektive in so gut wie jeden Charakter zu schlüpfen.

i think i loved book 2 more than book 1. i loved how we got more characters and eo’s. a great duology!
I liked this overall, but it felt like a long set up for the next book. The new characters were also interesting, but it seemed like a waste to introduce and develop some only to kill them off by the end. Regardless, it’s still an engaging series and brings me back to the feeling of watching Heroes as a kid. (And honestly, I’m still hoping for Eli and Victor endgame—either kissing and/or throwing each other off a waterfall or something.)
