Hallelujah, I finished! I had to stop reading so many times while reading this book. It is BY FAR my favorite book yet!!! There were SO many twists and turns, plus you really got to see the inner workings of the system. Having Jamie Berger there and seeing things from a prosecutor stand point was so interesting!!!

I think we got to see a really great side of Lucy in this book and even got some Benton in there. I really can’t wait to see what happens next!

Patricia Cornwells schrijfstijl is goed, maar het verhaal van "The Last Precinct" is nogal vermoeiend. Ik geef toe dat ik het voorgaande deel niet gelezen heb, maar een kleine introductie op wat in het voorgaande boek gebeurd is was geen schande geweest. Niet als eerste hoofdstuk trouwens, want het is wel mooi om zo midden "in the action" binnen te vallen. In plaats daarvan wordt tot zeker op 1/3 van het boek steeds terugverwezen naar zaken. Zo voel je je een beetje iemand op een feestje waar voor de rest iedereen elkaar kent, alleen jij bent nieuw... En verder houd ik niet van complottheorieën, dus een boek dat het voor zijn spanningsboog moet hebben van het idee dat iedereen tegen Kay Scarpetta is, is aan mij ook niet zo besteed.

It had a very slow start, but the story definitely picked up and became very interesting. Although I don't feel like the book was really resolved which is irritating.
