Yes I read the alien book, no it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, yes I read it as a joke.

Not sure if I'll continue this but they are good pallette cleansers, the whole thing was a bit silly but I went into it expecting that anyway.

Be sure you read the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, but still relatively light compared to some of the wilding romance / dark romance shit I've been reading lately.

MMC is very sweet as far as giant blue men go, and FMC is likeable. I was rooting for them to get together for sure. I liked the world setting and will enjoy reading about the other pairings developing.

Obviously Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon has been around for some time, and I’ve seen the hype over it almost as soon as the books were released. Even still, I never picked one up until recently, deciding it was time to take the plunge from contemporary and fantasy romance, to sci-fi/alien. This was surprisingly fun, sweet, and of course, sexy.

We start right in the middle of some confusing action as a group of women are kidnapped onto a spacecraft for nefarious, trafficking purposes. After hitting a rough patch, the women crash land onto, you guessed it, an ice planet. Desperate to find a way to survive, food, help, anything, their de facto leader Georgie ventures out and finds Vektal, the titular ice planet barbarian. He is tall, blue, and gorgeous with ridged appendages that hit just the right spots… Now, this could have easily been one of those everyone in the galaxy speaks a common tongue kind of moment, which would have bored me. Instead, we get lost in translation with neither understanding the other but boy howdy, do they try to make themselves understood. These little misunderstandings, along with general cultural differences, make the entire book so funny which was much more than I expected out of a smutty romance.

For anyone looking to expand their smutty romance reads, and is a fan of fated mates, I would definitely recommend Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon. Just keep in mind, this isn’t that serious. If you start thinking deeply about it, you might not find it as enjoyable. Just sit back for the ride and take it for what it is, a silly, erotic alien romance.

I'm not the audience for this. Insane, considering the AO3 tags I frequent.
