I stumbled across this title while at Barnes & Noble and it caught my eye.
"Before I Do" follows Audrey during the hours before her wedding day. Audrey is about to marry a very practical man, Josh. The day is planned, and she is at her rehearsal, everything seems to be falling into place, until Fred walks in. Fred was Audrey's one-night-stand from years ago, and the guy she never really got over. Perhaps this is a sign from the universe that Fred is her soulmate...
I hated Audrey as a character. She was annoying and did not know what she wanted or who she is, both of which I think are crucial to at least have some inkling about before you get married. She read into everything, and took every obstacle or minor inconvenience as a sign that she should not marry Josh. I understand her mother did not set a great example of how to be in a healthy, stable relationship, but she is her own person, Audrey should know better how to treat people!
I would have given this book 2 stars, however I really enjoyed the ending! I think the ultimate resolution and Audrey's eventual revelation is very valuable and inspiring about what a true love story is.
This book was very okay. Ultimately, I am curious to read more from the author, but I do not feel like I need to run out and buy another book right now.
