Whoa
That was good. Plot twist was unexpected like I thought I knew but I did not. I loved Rivah’s growth. From saving herself to owning herself. Kross came with the BDE not playing. Whew.

Whew, chile! This book was a lot! The beginning dragged for me a bit because of all the repetition—our FMC constantly reminding us that it’s her body, her choice, and she’s not ashamed yada yada type stuff. Basically rationalizing why she was f* all these men and then talking about them on a public blog. Like okay sis, we got it. Whatever lol.
I did enjoy her personality though! She was funny and not afraid to speak her mind. I understood where she was coming from though with all bad experiences she had with men she thought would be the one. Sometimes it makes us women heartless. Makes us put up a wall, a fortress, and that’s all Rivah was doing. Keeping her fortress up and guarded at all cost.
Anywho, things really started picking up once Kross entered the picture. From the moment he was introduced, I had such a clear image of him in my head, and I knew he’d be the one to sweep Rivah off her feet. The twist connected to him? I halfway expected it, but not in the way the author actually played it out.
The romance? Whew—intense, deep, satisfying, and definitely real down and dirty. Loved it. But what really stood out was how Kross genuinely wanted to help Rivah heal. He understood the purpose behind her blog, The Bodycount, and instead of just chasing after her for physical reasons, he wanted to truly know her and love her through her trauma. Sure, he went about it a little crazy… okay, a lot crazy 😅🤷🏾♀️, but in the end it all worked out.

Insta-Love mixed with homicide and obsession didn’t land for me.
