Really, thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love the character of Dr. Peter Brown. Bazell does an excellent job of bringing his voice alive on the page. I hope this isn't the last we hear of the Bearclaw.

I’m 19 and I did not get these references man. Ending was a bit rough. Left me a big unsatisfied although the read was fast paced and engrossing

Terrifically fun novel about a mob hit man turned doctor.

This was a book club pick or I would have so put it down. This is a guy's book, in fact, it's an adolescent guy's book only it's not appropriate for an adolescent (in my mind). I did like the medical commentary/angle and I must say upfront that this guy can write, he did make me turn the page. I'd like to read something else he writes. I just hated the story and the character. I kept saying (to myself and occasionally to my husband who was reading next to me), "No way!" It was like some guy-fantasy come to life. All I'll say is - "oral sex in a shark tank" and maybe that will make you get the idea (and maybe, if you're a guy, now you'll want to read it.). I'm certain better things will come from this writer.

Audio book...it's been awhile since I listened to a book rather than read it and now I remember why. It takes awhile to get used to the male voice doing the female characters (not that there is a ton of female dialogue in this one but still - it's weird. Brings to mind a Grisham novel I listened to years ago...Rainmaker, maybe? - that drove me bonkers with the masculine female dialogue)

It was a good story though - good enough that I could get past the reading. I'll definitely look for more from Bazell. I'll be trying my hardest to not have to go to a hospital anytime soon though...

A medical book I could read without constantly groaning. 'Nuff said.

Fantastic audiobook. Funny, imaginative, wild ride. Perfectly narrated on audible.

I don't know if an ending has ever had me gritting my teeth that much before. Shit, that was intense.

The ending also wins the award: "Most intense usage of Chekhov's gun..."

I usually read my Kindle on the treadmill, and the 2nd to last chapter of this book made me so sick I had to stop walking.

Barf, dude. Srsly. Barf.
