Summary
Remi is an incredibly relatable character. She is full of self doubt and does everything she can for others so they find her valuable/useful and thus won't abandon her. I wish there had been more about her working through these issues instead of her feeling them, one of the guys saying something encouraging, and then all of a sudden she's free of these thoughts.

Her and Cassian meeting again after a decade is so romantic and swoonworthy. Their relationship is so pure and full of such deep understanding. Truly #goals. I also love that Damon immediately dedicated himself to Remi and his entire focused shifted because he realized how important Remi is to his life and to his pack's. These are the kind of relationships and bonds I read omegaverse for! The complete and utter devotion and care is what dreams are made of.

I enjoy Remi and Smith's relationship because I like how much time, effort, and energy he puts into being the partner Remi and his pack deserve. He could have let his pride get in the way, but instead he threw himself into learning all he could and putting in the work to actually change. That all being said, it was hard to reconcile his abusive actions before he realized who Remi was vs after. While changed behavior is the best apology, the words are still needed. The way he treated Remi wasn't some small infraction. He made her life a living hell. I think the same points could have been made with a tuned down og persona.

Overall, this is story is definitely fluff + smut, and not much else. There's a thin plot that allows for a bit of character depth, but this is not a book where you are going to get a satisfying, hard won conclusion. Any conflicts are resolved quickly and any personal problems are worked through within pages instead of throughout the book. For what it is, I think the book is great and in other times during my reading journey, I might have rated it higher. However, I think the characters had such great depth in their backstories and all of the personal growth was assuaged in order to get to the next spicy scene.

"It's weird, having one single moment when I suddenly understand so many things about myself and the universe all at once. This is it, though. This is everything....My whole existence just...turns. Flips. Focuses. Until the rest of the world feels like a blur. And she's crystal fucking clear."

"The second I step inside, I know. This is why my Alpha had no interest in any other omega. Because somewhere, out there, we knew this was waiting for us."

"The name is torn out of the very bottom of my soul. I haven't said it in years. Now, as it rolls off my tongue, it feels like some secret hope I didn't know I had. Could it really be her? Here? Now? Where is "here"? I don't know. I can't remember where I am or how I got here. All I know is her."

"'Not just that. I want to take you home. The same way I wanted to take you home every single day when neither of us had one.'"

"'I'm yours, now," I tell her. "But I don't think that's a new thing, butterfly. I was always yours. I always will be.'"

"Maybe facial reconstruction is too good for this guy. Maybe he just needs to...I don't know. Die."

"Tonight is meant to show her how I want it to be between us. How she'll be the center of my entire world, mine in every way. If she'll have me."

"But now I see. I'm not leaving my future behind. I'm running straight into it."

"Smith is steady, and Damon is bright, but Cassian? Cassian is eternal. To the bottom of his soul, all through his fathomless depths, he loves me. In a way no one else possibly ever could. In a way I never knew existed."
