I love that this series wasn’t perfect but I absolutely enjoyed the characters and the storytelling. The plot gets messy at times but I just truly enjoyed the authors writing. I love this series because
  • It was so easy to get lost in the story (it was one of those books where I was enthralled and would forget my surroundings)

  • It was so easy to get through (I flew through 400 pages like nothing)

Well done, I’m happy I finished the series. It wasn’t 5-stars by any means but I really liked it!

genuinely sooo crazy to me that the author made rhen and grey secret half brothers instead of writing the craziest yaoi ever. like wowww soooo groundbreaking that ur beauty and the beast retelling was just. literally the same but bloodier and in a world parallel to ours where the story of beauty and the beast never happened i guess. wow im sooo impressed that both the strong male leads ended up with gentle female love interests way younger than them <33 soooo innovative and interesting.  she was like dont worry im super woke guys theres a background gay couple and they do one really cool thing and then they only exist to prop up the other characters isn't that great! but im the bad guy if i think it would have been wayyy more interesting for the 2 main guys and the 2 main girls to end up together. like damn u had the opportunity to make ur disabled teenage girl protagonist choose NOT to stay with the men that kidnapped her and were paralleled to her dysfunctional parents multiple times and instead become joint queens with the girl who was firstborn but never savage enough to become queen in their violent matriarchal country but noooo. i get that then the whole throughline of the second and third books would have to be different but i HATED it anyway so dare i say a change would have been better! and dont even fucking get me started on the fact that harper and co were from WASHINGTON DC and never even MENTIONED DEMOCRACY??? like??? and the terrible communication between characters pissed me off so bad as well like ugh i really wanted to like this but i hated most of the grey and lia mara stuff and i didn't like their relationship at all so the only stuff i was really enjoying was harper and rhen and i didnt even fucking LIKE rhen for the first 3rd of the book anyway?? idk sorry i was just a real hater bc there was so much potential but i did not like the execution at ALL. and dont even get me started on the pregnancy.

I was hoping to like this final installment better. I found myself caring more about Grey's storyline. His relationship with Lia Mara felt more genuine, their relationship evolved throughout this installment and I was just more invested. Harper chose the wrong guy, what do you want me to say

I loved this finale to this trilogy. The 2nd book wasn't as riveting, but this one brought me back to some of the things I loved about the first one. No love triangle in this one, but I loved seeing all the relationships develop more and Kemmerer had me rooting for everyone. I dare say...this one was rather delicious too. Sad that it's over.

Better than the second one, a bit slow in pace.
