I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH!!! I can't believe it took me so long to get the courage to buy all three in one go without knowing much about it but I'm so very glad I did because it was amazing and I regret nothing!!

Man, I was so looking forward to this book. I really loved book one and two. So, I was super excited for this book and to see how it all ends, but I hate to say it … I was so disappointed with this book.

Before I get into what I didn’t like, let me say what I liked... I really liked the world Kemmerer build here. Fairytale mixed with our modern world. I also liked we get all POV from all the characters, so we always know what and how is thinking and doing what.

Overall, I liked the writing it’s easy to follow and fast to read without missing anything.

Now to what I didn’t like.... one it seemed way too easy that everyone forgave Rhen. Yes, we should forgive him... maybe at some point, but he hardly did any work for it. They basically made the excuses for him before he even had a chance.

The whole Lilith thing just seemed to drawn out and just felt disconnected at some point, it just didn’t feel right anymore.

The “war/ battle”, very little action and we talk about it more than it happens. And when it does .. OMG what a short disappointment for something so hyped up and important in the story, it felt cut off or something. The talking (about the battle/war) often felt like fillers.... so, it was a bit off balance.

Also, this is supposed to be the final book.... but there are so, so many things left open and not even discussed. Worse yet...  The final chapter.... things get added and I was just confused and frustrated at that point

I liked the characters in the previous books especially Grey but this book all off them seemed off. Lia Mara was super annoying and whining 80% of the book the other 20% she lusts after Grey (<--- Though can’t blame her for that

This series is such a mid series... nothing spectacular or revolutionary and no real attachments to the characters...

There should be another book after this one. That was the first thought that I had after finishing the third installment to this series. The ending did not tie up everything and left things unanswered. I enjoyed reading the first two books of this series but this one left me disappointed and hating the way that Rhen was treated like the bad guy (although, he did do a few things like having Grey whipped ---that is where I felt he was out-of-character).

I’m not impressed with the plot or ending, seems like some predictable conflict resolutions happened

Deeper character inner turmoil and development in this one - sort of weird to fully understand characters on the third book

A Vow So Bold And Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer was a more exciting finale than I was anticipating. For me, Rhen’s perspective was hard to read. I just found it increasingly boring, but I think that’s because he’s one of the more boring characters of this series. I was glad that we got more of Harper’s perspective in this book than the last, and I was glad to see that Grey and Lia Mara remained narrating characters as well. I liked the way this book unfolded, and while I’m mad about one of the tropes that made an appearance at the end, I still liked the series overall. I don’t think that it was my favorite retelling (sorry, but when you’re in a league with ACOTAR, there is only one clear winner) but it was definitely an entertaining one. If you’re a big fan of retellings, then I think this series would be perfect, because it does tie in all the elements we’ve all loved about fairy tales since we were kids.
