Deze serie vond ik sowieso nooit een echte uitblinker. Toch was ik erg benieuwd naar het einde wat Brigid Kemmerer bedacht had. Maar ik kan alleen zeggen dat dit laatste deel me erg teleurgesteld heeft. In de eerste helft van het boek hadden beide koppels dezelfde soort relatiecrisis, wat zorgde voor heel veel drama en heel veel herhaling. De grote schurk van deze serie vond ik altijd al verschrikkelijk oppervlakkig en in dit deel bleek die ook nog eens onnodig wreed te zijn. Wat dit laatste deel tot mijn minst favoriete deel maakte, was dat Brigid Kemmerer de zwakke punten van deze serie niet meer goed kon verbergen achter romances zoals ze in de vorige delen graag deed (en dan met name de zwakke personages (vooral Lia Mara), de gebrekkige en vage worldbuilding en de hele typische keuzes voor het plot). Grey heeft deze serie echt voor me gedragen en wat mij betreft heeft zijn verhaallijn toch een mooi einde gekregen. Ik vond het alleen jammer dat toen het verhaal eindelijk spannend werd het allemaal vrij snel en makkelijk opgelost was.

I usually don't like when POV changes happen in the middle of series, but I didn't mind this one at all. It was very well done in my opinion.
The first half of the book was fine and then all of a sudden BOOM PLOT TWIST 50% through. My jaw dropped! And then I was enthralled completely until the end of the story.

Okay, my full review for VOW contains a whole bunch of spoilers so I'm tidily hiding it at this link for you:

Suffice it to say, though, I think this third novel satisfyingly wraps up the trilogy and was well worth the agonizing wait. By now Kemmerer has done a masterful job of getting us to care for each of her four main characters, and I feel that the narrative arc that she has created for them does them justice. (Except, possibly, slightly, Rhen. Which I talk about a little in my spoiler-y review.)
Do I want more? OF COURSE I WANT MORE. I love these characters and I want to spend more time with them, especially with the path that Kemmerer has laid out for them by the novel's ending. But considering how many trilogy/duology finales have left me:
a) scratching my head
b) tearing my hair out
c) feeling like I've wasted a whole lot of time on these people for no reason, apparently,
...I feel that A VOW SO BOLD AND DEADLY is a triumph!
