Excellent
Excellent read. Fast reading. Can't wait to read more books by her. Glad I found a good author. You won't be disappointed.

I could probably give this 3.5. It was good and enjoyable to read but since I absolutely LOVE some of her other books, I have to rate them accordingly on their own scale.

DNF - 52% Edit: Attempted some more then DNFed at 78%
You can tell that this is one of Hilderbrand's earlier works because the character work is pretty amatuerish. I'm not sure I can pick out a character that really had any redeeming qualities. We've got the manager, Mack, who is but don't worry its ok because That may make you feel for the girlfriend, Maribel, Then there is the owners of the hotel, who throw huge pity parties for themselves whenever another character doesn't do exactly what they want. And their daughter is no picnic, Then there is Vance who despite having a college degree works at the hotel as a bellman every summer because Then there is Love, not the feeling the person. (although there is literally a line of dialogue that says, "I want to talk about love." cringe city) Her whole personality is that she wants to have a baby but doesn't want the relationship or marriage or really for the father to know about it at all. Go to a sperm bank or clinic or something, this whole thing where she is trying to have one night stands and hope she gets pregnant is so stupid.
If you are looking for a story like this, focused on an ensemble of characters working at a Nantucket hotel throughout one summer, pick Hilderbrand's most recent book [b:The Hotel Nantucket|59227941|The Hotel Nantucket|Elin Hilderbrand|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1634954735l/59227941._SY75_.jpg|86476191] its character's are better written.
I may attempt to finish this just to see if any of my issues with it are resolved but its going to be tough.
Edit: Tried some more and I just can't with these characters and at this point I hope this fictional Nantucket sinks into the ocean.
