When I started reading, I didn’t think I’d like this book. I have never read anything by this author so maybe that was part of it. By the time I finished, I didn’t really like it but I found a few things I enjoyed. From the discovery of the second victim until the end, I thought that the pacing was good. That was when it started to pull me in, making me think that perhaps it was just a slow start. As the investigation moved forward, I also thought that the tension was good, leaving off each POV with a slight “cliffhanger” that kept me ready for what would happen next.
But I didn’t like these characters, not even as unlike-able characters. Not to mention it felt like the author tried to take every bad part of human beings (I.e animal cruelty, drugs, affairs, violence, assault, blackmail, etc.) and put it in this story, which made it almost too much. Like there wasn’t a single good character in this story and truthfully that’s not realistic.
Now let’s talk about the twist/reveal of who “did it.” I didn’t find that believable, not with the way the character was built through the story. It was also the like the character came out of nowhere, instead of the author having given us what we needed to figure out without telling us. There were almost too many misdirections in this story. I think it had potential to be good because it’s the right kind of unexpected character but I didn’t buy into it.
I was very excited for this book after I read the blurb, really feeling energized by this whole “his and hers, ours and theirs, yours and mine” idea. Sadly, this didn’t live up to the hype I had for it. I wanted so badly to like it, but by the end I was just glad it was over.

High quality murder book with my favorite protagonist: Woman Who Keeps Mini Alcohol Bottles In Her Purse.
Teen girls do fucked up shit when they were young assholes. Comes back to bite them in the ass later. The end.

I'm an Alice Feeney fangirl. And I'll always be biais.
But this was not written by Alice Feeney, I disapproved

soooo better than good bad girl but also so disturbing it was really good though. a little dragged out at the end and it was like flip flopping between 3 potential people every other page
Idk I love my little thrillers & this one was thoroughly entertaining but the ending killed it for me. I was way more team Kat revenge story than team weird senile mom getting revenge for… no reason really? Her daughter making a life of her own?
I thought I had the ending pinned about 4 different times. Then stayed up till midnight to finish it.
3/5 ⭐️
I went into this book completely blind and it had me captivated right away. I didn’t expect half of the things that happened and then when I thought I solved the mystery the ending was different than what I thought

I actually really enjoyed this one! An ending I totally didn't see coming. There were quite a few jaw dropping moments! I highly recommend this book in audio, because the mystery killer's chapters are really creepy.
Narrators Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine were perfect for their characters. I really enjoyed their narrations.
