This twist came out of nowhere but I really enjoyed it. I was not expecting the mom at all! I liked jack and Anna and it was a wild ride through their eyes. they are both so flawed but also very human.

My first Alice Feeney book and my oh my!!! I will be reading more! This book had me hooked by page 50! The way I thought I guessed correct and miss girl still had me guessing. LOVEDDDD!

The BookTok world seems to adore this author, but I've often been left wondering why. However, "His and Hers" pleasantly surprised me (until it didn’t).

The story revolves around a series of murders targeting women who were childhood schoolmates, intertwined with the complicated past of a reporter and a detective. This setup makes for a gripping and engaging read.

That said, I feel it's important to note that about two-thirds into the book, there's a brutal and heartbreaking sexual assault scene. It caught me off guard, so I want readers to be aware of it. While the scene is relevant to the plot and not gratuitous, it is still quite shocking.

Up until this point, the book was on track to becoming my first 5-star read from this author. Unfortunately, the ending fell flat. As I listened to the audiobook while crocheting, I thought the story was wrapping up, only to realize there was nearly an hour left. The twists kept coming—one after another—to the point of feeling excessive and absurd. In my opinion, the book would have been stronger if it ended with the first, or even the second, twist.
Overall, I still recommend "His and Hers." Despite its flaws, it's a solid read.

This book is highly disturbing at parts. I had to put it down for a while and read it in the daytime because I was so creeped and upset.

This book was WILD. It was my third Alice Feeney book and I think the best one I’ve read yet. The plot literally had my head spinning in circles, guessing every single character and I still got it wrong!

It left me utterly speechless and I haven’t been this shocked by a book since I first read the Robert Hunter series by Chris Carter. I found the beginning a little slow to get into but then it really picked up around 30% in and I could not put it down. I was reading it, listening to it on my way to work and even whilst driving! It was one of the most twisty, captivating thrillers I’ve ever read - the audio book was also amazing with the ways they did the different voices so I highly recommend not only reading it but also listening to it if you have the chance. I’m on a mission to read all Alice Feeney books so cannot wait for the next one!

There are some very heavy & dark topics so please check the trigger warnings before reading too.

I really enjoy Alice Feeney as a storyteller, and this thriller was no exception. A bit slow at the start, but once that tension starts building it’s pretty fast-paced and revelatory at each turn. I enjoy the unreliable narrator trope and didn’t find the two leads to be particularly likable, but I was still connected with them. I thought I’d figured out the twist, but I was wrong (which I always love!), and this one came with several twists. I did find the ending a little difficult to understand at first read…literal WTF moment of pause. But after sitting with it a bit I was happy with the way things panned out. Very dark, very twisty, and lots of context clues throughout that had me saying “oooh wow” at the end. Only taking 1 star off because I felt some of the motivations were a little confusing and it was a bit hard to get into at the start. Overall though, I really enjoyed this dark thriller.

‼️Also, trigger warning for child SA and r*pe.

Many thanks to Libro.fm for the chance to listen to this book early!

Wow! His & Hers was a surprise! I know Alice Feeney has become quite popular recently for her Thrillers, but even with the best of intentions and planning to read her previous work, this was my first book of hers. This audiobook kept me engaged from the very beginning. The differing perspectives, with their excellent narration, and the mysterious distorted voice for one character captured my attention and made me eager to continue. I certainly love an audiobook that makes me look for extra chores around the house so I can keep listening. This is productivity at its finest!

I was certain about halfway through I had pegged the ending of this story, and for any other Thriller, I might have been right. Luckily for readers (and listeners), Alice Feeney had a few tricks up her sleeve that literally made my jaw drop! I won’t give too much away because it’s best to go into this story as blind as I did. It made for a very fun listen that had my heart pumping double time!

I rarely give content warnings when it comes to stories, but I’m beginning to see the necessity of them when it comes to certain books. I did struggle with some of the subject matter in this story – from animal abuse, to sexual grooming and rape, to a young same-sex relationship. I especially struggled with the underage rape in this story and was surprised the book contained it in the first place. However, as we begin to learn more about how often these things happen in our world, it is important to raise awareness. Oftentimes, we think things like this aren’t happening and definitely not as frequently as it currently seems. This should be a sensitive subject for everyone.

While I struggled to listen to the detail of certain events in the book, especially in the latter half of the story, I couldn’t give this book anything less than five stars for the pure shock of the ending. This was a great audiobook!

Another very good thriller from Alice Feeney. In my mind, it was unguessable. The audiobook was excellently performed.
