I can't believe how many times I started reading this and put it down. This time, I pushed through until we met Darren and then I was hooked. The strange and often sad life of Eli Bell drew me in and I stayed for the family drama moreso than the crime story.

This writing is everything. The first quarter was a little challenging to get into but I’m so glad I stuck with it. Need to recommend this to everyone I know

I loved every second of this book. For me a 5* read is visceral and unexplainable and this gave me that sensation. I loved the characters and how real they were to me, I loved the plot line, this was fantastic

Took me awhile to to get into it, but once I did I really liked it! Great characters and interesting storyline, if a little fat fetched at times
