This book truly lived up to its name. I LOVED the romantic tension, right person wrong time and enemies to lovers masterpiece this was. The characters were funny, flawed, realistic and filled with chemistry for each other. This is the perfect romance to talk about with your friends and get that heartwarming happy feeling with all the adorable scenes. Overall an amazing romance you’ll want to read in one sitting.
this was cute to begin with, but it got boring very quickly.
lilah was also the worst character

I wanna watch the show they were on I know I would have been one of their insufferable fans

Honestly, the book was kind of horrible. I, as a certified enemies to lovers fan, am abashed by the pure ignorance of this book. Listen, the idea was there. The execution was horrible.
First of all, let's address the elephant in the room here.Or more like elephants. The characters sucked. Lilah was an unlikeable bitch and Shane was an idiotic wuss. Honestly, Lilah was tons more unlikeable. She reminded me of myself if I didn't have any personality at all. Also. SHE IS EMOTIONALLY UNAVAILABLE. And they address it in the book. Just leave her alone. They tried to make both the characters equally unlikeable, except Lilah was SO MUCH worse than Shane. Don't get me wrong, they both sucked, but Shane, are you really that desperate?
The "relationship" was so toxic. It was so obvious they weren't meant for each other. By the end of the book, I would have been happy if they both died.

This was a solid 3 only because I found the FMC absolutely annoying and unbearable at times. It’s okay to have anxiety and think that everyone is out to get you but then to use that as an excuse to be a bitch to a man who would literally do anything to love you is just sad. She didn’t deserve Shane and I say this with my whole chest lmao. He was so sweet and caring with her and even when he was being a jerk it wasn’t that really bad.
Other wise the love story was cute ish and the happy ending was nice and once she calmed down it was fine lol
The spice was minimal but not distasteful or felt to prudish/closed door. It was a good medium!

Lilah and Shane are actors on a supernatural drama whose legendary on-set chemistry has launched a million Shippers, but in real life, they're a hot mess. Their intense but brief real life affair implodes and the drama on their show is eclipsed by the drama playing out behind the scenes. Now it's the show's final season but as their characters finally move towards a union the real-life actors could not be further apart. Can they find their spark again without killing each other? Stay tuned.
This forced proximity, lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance was enjoyable but not the lighthearted romp you would think. It would almost play better if we knew less about what caused their rift. There is too much real wreckage between them for it to feel like the fun kind of antagonistic energy (save for maaaaaybe the photo shoot scenes) and I wish we had more banter than avoidance. Their character framing has a ton of Scully-and-Mulder vibes (to date myself a bit here) particularly knowing that rumor has had it that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson didn't get along in real life when they were on The X-Files I feel like there was untapped potential there.
One interesting thing I will gladly give it was that I'm noticing that this genre is starting to explore mental health a little more. In this case, one of the protagonists has Generalized Anxiety Disorder--it's not fully delved into but you see how this plays out and gives some deeper context. I love to see the reach toward inclusivity even if it feels like it's still in the early, imperfect stages.
