I greatly enjoyed reading this book, so why the low rating? The writing concept was really good, it was great even, but the execution was a bit sloppy at times. ALSO only having one account of Pete, the bassist squeezed in at the very end??? I thought he died before the books interview. And the fact he lived irked me. Yeah I cried and it was a very tumultuous journey and it felt so real i had to look up whether they were a real band or not (the answer: not until the show came out). That's all i have to say about it. Cool stuff.

Very Fleetwood Mac vibes.

I was a little hesitant due to the format (and tbh, I wasn’t super engaged for the first 30-ish pages), but once I found the rhythm, it flowed easily for me.

I really liked the female characters (they were fully rounded humans! hooray!) - their relationships and storylines felt genuinely touching and authentic. Specifically Karen and Camila were badass, and their relationship was completely heartwarming. The intimate look at addiction and trauma was also well done, I thought. Overall, I felt the power of the story came more from what was left unsaid, rather than what would’ve been a pretty predictable climax. One of my only complaints was that the ending felt a bit vague or rushed after such a rich build up, but overall I really liked it.
