Exactly the book I needed to get me out of my reading slump. It was a delight to read, though I'm not sure how much it will stick with me. I read The Final Revival of Opal & Nev earlier this year (same format/similar concept) and thought that story was much more compelling and the characters more dynamic.  This one felt a little flat and "easy" compared to the Opal & Nev story. (Hard not to compare.)

I could have done without
Camila's email at the end.

on a reread, Im not as taken by this book as I was before.  I love full cast novels and will recommend them to anyone, but I have feelings.

I really enjoyed the documentary style writing of this book. It made it very easy to read, and allowed for some funny back and forths between the characters. I do feel like the voices were written too similarly overall and it was hard to differentiate the personalities or speaking styles of each character without it being explicitly stated what their traits were. There were some really big topics in here that were a quite glossed over, and it felt a bit tongue and cheek in its stereotypical ‘drugs, sex, and rock and roll’ perspective. I did however enjoy the inclusion of the lyrics to the album, it was fun to flip back and forth - comparing the story of creation with final lyrics. Written version of almost famous. Overall, there are flaws in this book but it was a very enjoyable and easy read

I'm actually not sure how I feel about this book. It a feel good read, but also leave you with a bitter taste.

The unique format of Daisy Jones and the six is making the book light to a fault. It honestly a great book to read on a vacation or after a tough day.

The characters for the most part are genuin and relatable, especially the women. And still it fell flat for me. I guess it just isn't my thing. I'm not sorry I read it though and I totally understand why someone else might enjoy this.

This book was like a rollercoaster ride. I loved following along with the characters' highs and lows, and feeling both empathy and anger towards them in the process. Their voices on the page sounded so organic that it felt as if I'd been familiar with the group all my life. Each character had an interesting perspective of events, and even when they disagreed on which actions had actually transpired, I always felt like I could believe that their intentions and emotions were true. Many of the passages in this book tugged at my heart, and felt sadly relatable.

The copy of this book that I read was borrowed from my younger sister, who underlined and drew hearts around some statements about womanhood and love and Daisy's refusal to be used or made into a muse. I love that through reading it, I got to learn more about perspectives she valued. We both look forward to watching the series adapting this title, and I highly recommend reading the book beforehand. The unique storytelling method and the skillfully written words the characters utilize to both hide behind and open themselves up are worth the time and effort it takes to read them. I began reading this book immediately after waking up at seven this morning, and didn't put it down until I finished it in the mid-afternoon. It's really that engaging.
