I greatly enjoyed reading this book, so why the low rating? The writing concept was really good, it was great even, but the execution was a bit sloppy at times. ALSO only having one account of Pete, the bassist squeezed in at the very end??? I thought he died before the books interview. And the fact he lived irked me. Yeah I cried and it was a very tumultuous journey and it felt so real i had to look up whether they were a real band or not (the answer: not until the show came out). That's all i have to say about it. Cool stuff.

the characters are very well written. they felt real, like it could actually be a real band. I felt the ending was slightly rushed. would've liked more context as to why the author decided to write it (without spoling if you've read it you'll know what I mean). overall easy to read and really enjoyed

I was introduced to this story through the Amazon Prime series and enjoyed the audiobook cast and what they brought to the characters. The listening experience was fantastic and I found myself thinking about the characters and their decisions when I was away from the book. My one critique is that the song lyrics are cringe-inducing and distract from the emotional moments when the songs are being written and later performed. But overall, it was an engrossing read that I highly recommend others try!

This book was 3.5 stars for me. The production of the audiobook was really well done. The premise of the book was intriguing, but I felt like the middle was repetitive and drug out much longer than necessary. I also disliked Daisy. She was selfish and shallow. I would have liked to see her evolution at the end.
