This was just a fun time.
I really liked the characters, there was a strong cast of likable supporting characters, some of them were more superficial but still enjoyable.
I loved the setting - I'm a sucker for the 70s.

I'm really glad I listened to the book on audio, the full cast was amazing and gave a really distinct voice to each character, with great emotional preformances. I'm not even sure I would have made it though the book otherwise, cause the interview format in written form seems a bit boring. But the audio made it believable and engaging.

I really enjoyed this. It did take a while for me to get into, I don't think it was as easy for me to get into as TJR's other work. The narrative style was very unique and I enjoyed that change, particularly the element of very biased and unreliable narrators.
I felt that the female voices in this were given a platform. Three completely different women finding their place in the world and happiness, that so clearly not being the same for each of them and all of the pain and struggles they went through to get there.
Some of the characters were not very likeable and their attitudes really played into the dynamic of the band, I appreciated this aspect because I feel like this was much more realistic than them all being happy and friendly all the time.
While reading it, I felt like it could genuinely have been a memoir, the line between fiction and real life felt very blurred.
While I really enjoyed this, there are other TJR books that I enjoyed more.

I loved the different narrators, helped me keep each voice separate! This book was a 3.75 read for me until the very end. That got me, I felt reflective after it and hoping for more of what happens next.

My first @tjenkinsreid read was #TheSevenHusbandsOfEvelynHugo — now I’ve got another on my shelf with #DaisyJonesAndTheSix 🎶🎤🎸🥁🎹

⭐️ Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️

I really liked the style of this book in an interview format, switching perspectives between the members of the band, highlighting their story of a rise to stardom, struggles with vices, love and loneliness.
Rock and roll is a wild ride, and I feel like in so many stories of musicians in the rock and roll era, struggles with vices turn out differently. I like how @tjenkinsreid gives these characters pitfalls yet redemption, something to live for, and allows their struggles to play out throughout their story. An ultimate testament to the power of love, temptations of lust, and the true mess of life.

🏆 I can see how this book won the @bookofthemonth “Book of the Year” award! 🏆

🎥 Now on to watch the adaptation to screen on @primevideo 🎬

Somebody inject this book into my bloodstream. I friken loved it. Gonna go watch the show now. The characters were just so well written with complex thoughts and emotions and I felt for all of them. A super interesting format for a book too which worked amazingly. I wish there was more of it. Taylor Jenkins Reid hasn’t missed with any of the book I’ve read by her. In audiobook form it feel even more real with the distinct voices as if it’s really interviews. Just gorgeous.
