This is a short a sweet novella about some of the trouble that Jamie and Ian get into. This is after Jamie has seen Randal for the first time, but before Jamie has gone into hiding. I enjoyed revisiting these characters. Plus, I had never seen them quite so innocent. It was adorable.

The writing was repetitive, boring and honestly just bad. I wanted to read it to learn more about the characters but I couldn't get through it. The entire series needs a few editors to go through it. It feels like she writes and never edits it's painful. She is good at character making... It's just everything else she needs an editor for.
Loved this, but it is a story featuring Jamie. I adore Outlander novels and this has helped fill a gap while waiting for the next novel to come out
Just meh. Definitely cool to see the interaction of younger Jamie and Ian. But the plot was a bit lacking, even for a short story companion novella thing. Needed more meat to it.
Always eager to immerse myself into Gabaldon's world of Outlander, and this prequel featuring a young Jamie and Ian in France provides a diverting adventure, although, alas, it was over all too soon.
