So the scope of this book, and if the universe that GRRM has created, is immense and impressive. And it would be untrue to say that this novel did not have its share of interesting and exciting stories. While it created a feeling of authenticity, writing it like a recounting of history made for a dry, oftentimes tedious read that felt like doing homework. When compared with other A Song of Ice and Fire books, or even with the House of the Dragon adaptation, it is clear that what is missing is the drama of the lives, emotions, relationships, and nuances of the characters.

Ok, maybe I didn’t finish the book yet but I must say something: this book is great.
And honestly I don’t care to sound indelicate but everyone who say otherwise is wrong.

FUN!

I enjoyed learning the lore (some parts more than others) but actually I couldn’t finish and never will because I hated what was happening with the dance of the dragons part aka rhaenyra’s ending. I don’t want to read the decline of the dragons and house Targaryen that I know will follow. ugh
